Attorney-at-law and insolvency administrator
Tadas Ugintas
Tadas Ugintas is a Lithuanian attorney-at-law and insolvency administrator with 17 years of experience in insolvency.
He is a member of the Lithuanian Bar and is on the official list of insolvency administrators kept by the Lithuanian Authority of Audit, Accounting, Property Valuation and Insolvency Management (No. N-FA0287).
Acting for insolvent companies and their creditors, former directors and individuals, he has taken part in more than 150 corporate and personal bankruptcy proceedings.
Because he also works as an insolvency administrator, he knows the process from both sides: how administrators assess claims and transactions, what courts and creditors check first, and where creditors and directors most often lose their position.
He is the managing partner of NORDEN legal, a full-service law firm in Vilnius, and leads its insolvency and restructuring practice.

How we help clients from abroad
Most foreign clients need a team in Lithuania that can act for them quickly, in Lithuanian proceedings, and explain each step in English. The typical situations are:
A Lithuanian debtor is not paying
We represent foreign companies in dealings with Lithuanian customers and partners that have stopped paying: demands and negotiations, court proceedings, enforcement of Lithuanian and other EU judgments through a bailiff, and an assessment of whether insolvency proceedings against the debtor would help.
The debtor is in insolvency proceedings
We lodge and defend your claim, attend creditors' meetings on your behalf, check other creditors' claims, monitor the administrator and challenge transactions that harmed creditors, including claims against the people responsible.
The debtor is restructuring
We check that your claim is in the plan at the right amount and in the right class, assess whether the plan is realistic and fair to you compared with bankruptcy, negotiate its terms, vote for you and object in court where needed.
Your Lithuanian company is in difficulty
For foreign shareholders and groups with a Lithuanian subsidiary, we assess whether restructuring is realistic, prepare the application and plan, and defend directors and shareholders if insolvency leads to liability claims.
Working together
- Advice and correspondence in English.
- Most work is done remotely: documents are exchanged electronically and we attend hearings and creditors' meetings for you.
- At the start you get a frank assessment: what is realistic, which route to take, how long it is likely to take and what it is likely to cost compared with the amount at stake.
- You receive written updates at each important step.
- A team behind every case, led personally by the managing partner.
